Carman Contracting completes Bournemouth Lifeboat Corps’ new facility
Last year, Carman Contracting completed a comprehensive electrical and safety installation for Bournemouth Lifeboat Corps' new facility on the Joseph Steps. The final touches are now being made to the new training and education hub, which will enhance public safety through vital lifeguard training and provide community support.
Carman Contracting worked alongside the main contractor, Seascape and Meridian Cooling Ltd, for Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole Council on this project. Our team carried out extensive electrical installations, including fire alarms, CCTV, door access systems, intruder alarms, solar PV panels, and a public address system.
Sustainability was a key focus of the design of this new building. Our renewable energy solutions include 37 solar panels for greater energy, while energy-efficient lighting with presence detection helps to reduce unnecessary consumption.
As the facility is situated on the beachfront, security is essential. We installed high-level security systems with NFC-controlled access, multi-locking doors, and round-the-clock monitoring.
“Bournemouth Lifeboat Corps' old premises were outdated and had fallen into disrepair," explained Rory Carman, Director of Carman Contracting. "It's wonderful to see the completed facility and to have contributed to delivering such a vital centre for the local community.
