Carman Contracting awarded major project for New Forest District Council following competitive tender
Carman Contracting has been awarded a significant project by the New Forest District Council to convert an existing residential property in Ringwood into separate flats. This project, won through a highly competitive tender process, is Carman Contracting’s first major residential contract for the council.
Starting in January 2025, the 24-week project involves a complete strip out of the property to make way for a comprehensive internal reconfiguration to create five separate flats. The scope of works includes the installation of new bathrooms, kitchens, flooring and doors, alongside complete decoration throughout the property.
Carman will also deliver modern Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services, including energy-efficient LED lighting, a photovoltaic (PV) array, and individual air source heat pumps for each flat.
John Graham, Project Manager at Carman Contracting, will oversee the works, coordinating a team that comprises ten different trades to deliver this transformation on schedule and to the highest standards.
James Selwood, Director of Carman Contracting said, “This is a significant project for us, not just because of its size and complexity but also as it’s our first opportunity to work directly for New Forest District Council. Winning such a competitive tender shows the strength of our proposal and the quality of our team. We look forward to starting work in January and delivering a residential property demonstrating our expertise across multiple disciplines.”
